QMI integrates advertising assets, expertise

Toronto, November 16, 2009 - Quebecor Media Inc. is rolling out a new advertising sales structure today that will focus a broad range of expertise on clients' needs and harness the most effective media channels for every advertising project.

"Merging QMI's four sales teams - the Sun Media newspapers across Canada, the leading online portal Canoe.ca, TVA Broadcast and TVA Publications - into one vertically integrated solutions team will allow us to create customized solutions for our advertisers," said Philippe Guay, Vice-President of National Sales for QMI.

"By leveraging the power of each asset, Quebecor Media will become the only fully integrated media solution provider in Canada, allowing us to provide media solutions with high added value. I see multiple opportunities not only to serve our clients in a more efficient manner but also to capitalize on the synergies between our media platforms to creatively reach our national audience in a cost-efficient way."

"No one else in our industry can offer solutions that so seamlessly bring together the most effective, customized media approaches to reach the right audiences," said Mr. Guay.

He said the enhanced advertising structure demonstrates that QMI has been listening attentively to what the marketplace wants and the direction in which it is evolving. "The CMDC (Canadian Media Directors' Council) agreed recently that it wanted a more holistic approach that gets rid of silos," said Mr. Guay. "That's precisely what we are doing with this new team structure."

The integrated team structure for Toronto, Central and Western Canada markets significantly enhances the advertising power of Quebecor Media's network. There will be seven sales teams, each headed by a Solutions Director, with specialists in newspapers, printing, distribution, magazines, publishing, broadcasting and online.

Account executives will continue to serve clients' needs but now will be able to draw upon expertise in every area of innovative and traditional advertising to deliver the best results on a case-by-case basis.

The move is consistent with Quebecor Media's business model, which is based on providing multiplatform content by capturing synergies and pooling the expertise of its personnel across the country. It demonstrates QMI's commitment to be responsive to marketplace needs and reflects Mr. Guay's 16 years of experience on the client side of the industry. He led sales and logistics operations for Laura Secord, H.J. Heinz and Hostess Frito Lay prior to his appointment in October as Vice-President for National Sales at QMI.
